Today is a significant milestone in the journey of Jack Black, with Heineken Beverages acquiring the remaining shares in our business. This is the next natural step for Jack Black, following our distribution partnership over the last five years, and taking the relationship to the next level ensuring continued investment in our people and our brand.

We’ve matured as a family business and keep on striving to make the best, most inspiring beer we can, while maintaining the best service levels to all our customers. With all of that in mind – the most important thing we insist on, and always come back to – is to remain true to our original vision – to make premium, well made, honest beer that is crafted with inspiration and full of flavour. Always.

Moving forward, Heineken is committed to this vision and we don’t think we could have chosen a better partner – a family-owned company with common values that operates in over 70 countries and is renowned for successful partnerships. Heineken has made significant investment in South Africa over the last few years and is committed to being a force for good in the South African market and beyond.

As far as our team goes, I’ll remain involved for the foreseeable future, but no longer in the role of CEO, and Meg will be stepping down from her role. We’re excited to have Heineken’s Wulrich van Wyk join the team in a leadership role, with extensive experience in alcohol beverage, and underscoring Heineken’s commitment to the business. Importantly, our full team will remain in place, as with our customer and suppliers, and as time goes on, no doubt experience the benefits of being involved with a world class partner such as Heineken.

We look forward to this exciting new chapter for the business and hope you’ll join us in celebrating what has been quite an incredible journey and a historic partnership in the world of beer in South Africa.
