Protect The West Coast
There’s something incredibly special about South Africa’s West Coast. Rugged shorelines, endless beaches, salty air, fishing villages, wildflowers and waves that seem to stretch on forever. It’s one of the most unique and biodiverse coastlines in the world, and it deserves to be protected.

That’s why our next Pint for a Purpose initiative is supporting Protect the West Coast a non-profit organisation working to protect the West Coast from the long-term environmental and community impacts of destructive mining activities.
From protecting marine ecosystems and fragile dune systems to supporting local fishing communities and preserving access to beaches, hiking trails and surf spots, their work focuses on safeguarding the coastline for both the people who live there and the generations still to come. With more and more mining applications continuing to threaten the region, Protect the West Coast plays an important role in raising awareness, supporting affected communities and helping hold mining activity accountable.

Protect the West Coast was founded by a collective of concerned South Africans including scientists, journalists, activists, legal experts and community members who are working tirelessly to ensure mining in this sensitive region follows proper environmental oversight and lawful processes.
From safeguarding marine ecosystems and biodiversity to protecting local communities and livelihoods, the work they do is essential in preserving one of our country’s greatest natural treasures.

Supporting this cause couldn’t be easier. Simply order a Pint for a Purpose beer at Jack Black’s Taproom and all of the proceeds from your beer will go directly towards supporting the important work Protect the West Coast is doing at no extra cost to you.
Through Pint for a Purpose, we’re proud to support organisations creating real impact across South Africa, one pint at a time.
So next time you’re at the Taproom, grab a beer, raise a glass and help us protect this incredible stretch of coastline for generations to come.
Good beer. Good people. A coastline worth protecting.
