Pint for a Purpose: Sentinel Ocean Alliance
Founded by professional big wave surfer, Frank Solomon, in 2018, The Sentinel Ocean Alliance (S.O.A) has done some incredible work since starting up seven years ago.
With passion and dedication, the team have truly transformed a sandy patch of unused land at Hout Bay Main Beach into a space of incredible community upliftment.
That’s why we’re so excited to announce that S.O.A will be our Pint for a Purpose at Jack Black’s Taproom for the months of February and March. So, what does that mean exactly? Well, every time you order a pint or a jug from our Pint for a Purpose tap, proceeds will be donated to S.O.A to support their work. It’s a great way to do good, simply by enjoying an ice-cold pint of Jack Black Beer.
If you have a look at the S.O.A website, you’ll be quite blown away by the programs that they run. Programs such as the Parley Ocean School, Youth & Community Talks, Beach Cleanups, Surf Therapy and more. S.O.A even established the Hout Bay Surf Lifesaving Club, a development club that has grown to almost 60 members and won the prestigious Sports Charity of the Year award in 2019.
It’s truly inspiring work and we’re super honoured to be able to contribute in our small way. If you’d like to find out more about Sentinel Ocean Alliance or even get involved, they’re always looking for volunteers and welcome donations. You can visit their website for more information or join us at Jack Black’s Taproom for that Pint for a Purpose.
